Research and Development of novel antiviral compounds against infectious viruses (HIV, HBV, HCV, FLU, DENGUE), including discovery and development of company’s breakthrough HCV therapeutic, PSI-7977 (SOVALDI). Designed and implemented various cell-based assays for assessing antiviral activity of nucleosides and small molecules in viral systems.

Developed and implemented infectious real time RT PCR assay to measure anti-HIV activity of newly synthesized compounds.

Designed and applied high throughput (dose response) screen (HTS) to measure anti-HCV activity of all newly synthesized compounds.

ModiYied toxicity assays (mitochondrial and lactic acid accumulation) which provide faster throughput toxicity assessment of lead antiviral drug candidates.
