Overview

Mr. Shell Pierce has over 40 years in the Information Technology industry working on many mainframe platforms (Unisys, Tandem, Honeywell, IBM and Burroughs). Mr. Pierce’s experience spans project management, requirements gathering, technical leadership, SDLC and full systems documentation. The largest project was a two-year development effort with a team of eight to twelve. Mr. Pierce has been working with COBOL 74 & 85 as his primary programming language since 1973, with many supporting script and control languages. COBOL 85 team leader to the Comptroller Department involving their financial system (AFIP) to include three (3) newly installed manpower work schedules involving the conversion of the workforce into a 5-4-9 schedule. This involved identifying targeted subsystems, designing new interfaces, modifying schema and subschemas, unloading and reloading the database with new structures and updating user and program manuals. Developed new COBOL 85 subsystem, Command Safety Office, non-injury mishaps involving vehicles. The original system included mishaps reporting but, tracked only mishaps resulting in injuries. With new requirements, it is necessary to include non-injury vehicular reports.

Systems experience includes 3 years in Systems Administration position responsible for the Pathway, Multilan and Expand environment with additional experience in development and maintenance in SCOBOL and TACL Macro languages.
