Hello Sir/Madam,

I am very interested in the listed position and believe that I would be an ideal candidate based on my experience with GIS and computer programs throughout my course. The GIS certification that I have already completed and am due to receive by the end of year requires the completion of a range of courses related to GIS and remote sensing techniques.

I am currently studying Geography at York University and am looking for a position in GIS as I move into the workforce. The listing mentions a wealth of GIS-skill requirements that I believe I meet; I am familiar with a range of programs such as ArcGIS and Geomatica as well as basic level python programming. Moreover, whatever skills I may come up short I am willing to develop and learn throughout the course of the internship. With English as my first language and a history in the International Baccalaureate program my writing skills are also well developed, should they be required. My affinity for good time management and organization would be an asset to my internship journey as well.

In short, I would hope that I have demonstrated enough of my familiarity with GIS systems, and I am confident that I would be able to benefit the work environment by being an active team player.
