Objective

I am a natural hands-on leader, with the ability to set and follow procedures to ensure safety and integrity of the workplace. I am skilled in adapting to unexpected circumstances and overcoming obstacles in a safe manner. I am a fast learner and can solve problems in an efficient and safe manner. Interacting with individuals professionally has always been a strong quality I possess. In addition, I have an extensive knowledge and background in the oil and gas industry, as I have been employed in this industry for 20 years.

Experience

June 2010 - Current

Superintendent of the VB10000 (a heavy lift vessel) Versabar

While employed by this company for the last 11 years, I worked alongside all the major oil companies on decommissioning and installation projects throughout the Gulf of Mexico onboard the VB10000.

My most recent project as vessel superintendent onboard the VB10000 was the Salvage Project on Golden Ray car carrier in St. Simon’s Sound, Georgia. I supervised a 34-man crew onboard the vessel. During this project I had to ensure my team followed the strict procedures put in place, this resulted in no loss time injuries for any of the personnel under my supervision. I have advanced experience in hydraulics, as all the winches were hydraulic powered. I am very experienced with preventative maintenance and the programs involved in ensuring that all the equipment is being maintained in an efficient manner. All eight of the hydraulic winches are operated by PLC and have been overseeing operations as Superintendent for the past seven years. I have worked onboard the vessel for its entire existence and have made lifts ranging from one thousand metric tons to six thousand metric tons.

2003 – 2007

Deck mate/ Tankerman Kirby Inland Marine

Team Leader/ Shore Tankerman Kirby Logistics Management

Prior to my job as superintendent on the VbB10000, my experience in the oil and gas industry consisted of shore tanking liquid gas and dangerous liquid barges for many of the major oil companies. I worked in various refineries in South Louisiana, such as: Exxon Baton Rouge and Mobil Chalmette. I have over one thousand transfers without a spill and excelled as a team leader while working for this company. The position I held consisted of me being called out on to specialty barges, ensuring that all procedures were being followed properly and if there were any unexpected issues, I was there to help. I also tanked barges while I was employed as a boat tankerman onboard the M/Y Brownwynne Brent. These barges I operated on consisted of refined products, such as diesel and gasoline, and were far less complex compared to the barges I tanked as a shore tankerman. As a shore tankerman, I was involved in the transfer of any high-profile products, which consisted of class b poison, liquid gases, and many other dangerous chemicals. Again, for this position, I had to follow many strict safety rules and procedures.
