Chris Bellizzi: Biography
Chris graduated from Quinnipiac College with a degree in Health Science/Athletic Training. He earned his Certified Athletic Trainer credential with the National Athletic Trainers Association [BOC]. Chris is also a Licensed and Professional Massage Therapist in the state of CT. Chris attended the Connecticut Center of Massage Therapy and earned a diploma as a Certified Massage Therapist. He also obtained a certification as a Kinesiotape practitioner with the Kinesio Taping Association. Recently he completed a graduate degree in Sports Management and Athletic Administration at Southern New Hampshire University. Early on in his career Chris was employed in a manual therapy physicians practice for a number of years as a Massage and Sports Rehabilitation Therapist. Following that position; Chris was employed with the United States Coast Guard Academy as an Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Specialist. His additional achievements included the development in functional strength and conditioning programs to enhance performance levels for the cadets and active duty personnel at the academy.
Furthermore, Chris decided to continue his education and learning potential by earning his Corrective Exercise, Personal Training, Performance Enhancement and Fitness Nutrition Specialty certifications with the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He also pursued ancillary educational training by achieving an Advanced Ergonomics Analysis Certification with The Back School of Atlanta. Chris passionately attended numerous manual therapy, sports medicine clinics and performance enhancement symposiums since entering the health care setting.
Chris decided to move towards a non-traditional setting by learning to expand and implement a new ergonomic intervention service with Eversource energy and Avangrid Corporation. These services include injury prevention, industrial related rehabilitation, and job-site/physical demand analysis, identifying safe work practices as well as proper body-mechanic techniques, enhanced performance skills and employee wellness. In addition, Chris designed and formulated a work conditioning rehabilitation program for injured employees involved in workers’ compensation cases. The goal is to prepare the injured employee to re-enter the workforce safely and efficiently with the functional capacity to increase productivity, manage the physical work load demands and decrease workers’ compensation claims. This learning program is essential to enhancing the employees’ quality of life and refined success in the work place. Currently Chris, manages the sports medicine program at Windsor High School in CT. He values integrity and developing methods to improve company relationships with all stakeholders and practices emotional intelligence; improving employee trust, communication and long-term success in business operations.
