I administer pharmacological and physical cardiovascular stress testing with RN nurses in the hospital stress lab.

In the administration of each stress test, I am responsible for patient care including applying electrodes to the patient; monitoring patient performance during the test; for physical tests, encouraging patients to reach target heart rate; and confirming the patient’s recovery after the test.

I interpret the electrocardiogram recordings of each stress test and deliver same to cardiologists for their use in diagnosing patient heart conditions and making patient care decisions.

I assist with other cardio-diagnostics including EKGs, rapid response EKGs, interrogation of pacemakers (manufactured by Abbott, Medtronic, Boston Scientific, and Biotronik), and cardiac event monitors.
