THE SECOND MOST CHALLENGING PROJECT I HAVE HAD IN MY PROFESSIONAL LIFE.

It was during the construction of the cars terminal and the commercial center in Acapulco. We had many problems with the rocky soil, but we did construct both facilities in a record time of 4.5 months a total of 67,000 m2 of constructions so that the President of Mexico could inaugurate it the date that my Director General had indicated to him. During the construction of the laying of the foundation concrete piles in Acapulco we had a serious problem because the soil was of rock fill and it could collapse when one started to perforate it in order to place the steel and strain; that is why we used the jet grouting in order to stabilize the ground and to be able to perforate without any problem. 1500 people worked in two shifts of 8 hr. each one, since the work had to be finished in 4 months.

During the construction process 80 tons of columns and steel beams were placed per day, with 3 cranes.

Design of project and the studies (mechanics soils, environment, bathymetric) included : a) Demolition of existing buildings

b) Jet grouting for the depth of stabilization for the concrete piles. c) Building steel structure 4500 ton. And 18,000 m3 of concrete. d) Energy disperser (added damping and stiffness elements so that
