Full Job Description

Position: Rig Welder

Location: Midland, Texas

Schedule : 6/1

Job Summary :

Assists in construction of equipment and facilities per directions given by foreman.

Be able to perform welding on various materials at required position using SMAW

Lay out, position, fit and weld various piping and structural components, including pipes, flanges,

fittings, valves, piping supports, structural plates, beams, etc., in accordance with the supplied

piping/structural fabrication drawings

Measure, mark, cut, bore, fit and/or install various piping/structural components in accordance with

blueprints and job specifications using hand and

power tools such as saws, cutting torches, etc

Follow fitting procedures and principles used in

fabrication of production facilities

Set up, troubleshoot, and operate welding machines according to job specifications and welding

procedures

Adjust valves, gauges, and flames as needed and be capable of handling compressed gas and oxygen

cylinders safely

Operate grinder, and other industry machines, tools, and equipment.

Participate in JSA’s and all other Safety, Health and Environmental Processes

Participate in safety observations

Requirements:

3-5 years of previous rig welding; prior experience in fabrication required

Must be able to cut with a torch

Must be able to interpret ISO’s and P&ID’s

Must be able to cut with a torch

Prior experience in making roll out welds/positions welds

Able to take field measurements and draw up ISO's

Experience using safe work habits

Candidates will be required to complete at a

minimum: 12" Butt & Branch Weld Test - SMAW
