I work toward Community awareness and education; I volunteer with the Earthquake Simulator, man booths and awareness events for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and I am also a trainer for CERT. HUNTING DEPARTMENT ADMIN/ASSOCIATE, BASS PRO SHOPS

Customer service is one of my most important jobs I performed here. Scheduled appointments for those doing their background checks (DROS) as well as picking up their new firearms. Assisted on the ammo, cutlery, optics and release counters as needed assisting customers make their selection. and ringing up their orders on the cash register. When scheduled in the mornings I often went to the cash office and pick up the register drawers for all seven of the departmental registers, logging and verifying the cash in the drawers. Assisted with freight several days a week before the store opened. As an admin I was responsible for all the departments signage as well as price changes when needed. Responsible for the departmental employee scheduling, attendance, tracking training and Department of Justice certifications. I also monitored the safes on the floor to assure they are in proper working condition and either repairing them myself or contacting the vendor to order parts and schedule a repair man. Handled much of the departments ordering for upcoming sales and assist in the planning of upcoming featured items for the different hunting seasons. Assisted with inventory, inventory audits and various other cycle counts. When coverage was needed at the gun range, I covered this as well as one of 4 Range Safety Officers, I also administered the Safe Gun Handling Test as I am a State Certified Instructor able to demonstrate safe gun handling to new gun owners. Help do firearm releases as needed as well as restocking freight, working with planograms and sales PODs.

Schedule customers commercial trucks in for service, check in trucks, order parts, dispatch mechanics for emergency or on-site work at customer locations as well as the delivery drivers to pick up and deliver equipment as needed. RANCH MANAGER, High Desert Oasis

All aspects of ranch management from cleaning stalls, clearing property with a tractor, interviewing hiring, training, and firing ranch staff. Interviewing outside vendors and negotiating fees. Accounts payable and receivable as well as collection calls. From 2002-2016 I opened and ran a non-profit horse rescue and was also on the Board of Directors as the President this entire time. Responsibilities included conducting board meetings, resolving problems, purchasing, billing, budgets, contracting and negotiating with professionals such as veterinarians, farriers, trainers, and haulers. Assured all dietary and exercise needs for each horse was met, often forty at a time. Manage, train, and schedule all volunteers. Reviewed all adoption applications as well as tracking each horse, and when there was a breach of contract, I was the one who went to court to assure the safety of our animals. Organized and ran many different types of events to promote and raise funds to operate the facility as well as being responsible for all advertising and social media updates. In 2004 we also began providing a livestock evacuation center during any local disasters, which we still operate today. As well as dispatching and transporting horses both during disasters and on a as needed basis for the public.

As an advisory committee member, I was responsible for addressing industry-related concerns about the Equine Medication and Monitoring Program. The committee ensures the integrity of public horse shows, competitions, and sales through the control of performance and disposition enhancing drugs and permitting limited therapeutic use of drugs at an equine event. The committee also helped rewrite legislature which allowed the enforcement of the rules by setting up a fine structure and deciding which drugs needed to be lab assessed to decide allowable amounts of substances as well as which substances were not allowed at all. As a committee we set the fees for the competitors as well as the severity of fines when rules were broken, or competitors did not cooperate with officials.

TRUCK DRIVER/DISPATCHER, patio industries

Started out driving Class A flatbed trucks hauling building materials at which time I was certified as a forklift operator and often loaded/unloaded my own trailers at the vendor/customer sites. Later, I was offered a dispatching job and conduct safety meetings. As a dispatcher I was also responsible for tracking drivers’ hours to ensure they were running compliant with local and federal laws, scheduling trucks and trailers in for needed services and repairs and assuring all trucks were correctly registered and insured. During my last few months with the company, I was also responsible for assessing new hire drivers and training them to perform their job correctly.

1994 – 1996

SEASONAL TRUCK DRIVER & DISPATCHER, toys r us

Seasonal (Christmas) Local Truck Driver hauling 48' & 53' dry box trailers and land/see containers from the yard, harbor, or rail yards to stores or company yard. The following year I asked back to continue driving and assisted with some dispatching for Christmas & Easter. The third year I again returned as a dispatch and occasionally covered a load when drivers were not available.

Promoted to accounting manager, completed billing for all contracts our buses belonged to throughout the Ventura County school districts as well as the city buses, we ran. Also insured all vehicles were current on service, repairs, registration, and insurance and kept track of driver’s hours.

LOST & FOUND SUPERVISOR, county of ventura animal control

Began as a volunteer in 1983 and assisted in moving all animals from the old El Rio building to the new and state of the art facility that still stands today in Camarillo Ca. Soon after I was offered a job as the Lost and Found Clerk. Ensuring the lost and surrendered animals had the best chance of getting back home or finding a new one. Daily kennel walks, searching lost ads and matching them with found animals, interviewing new volunteers. After 1 year I was promoted to a new position of Lost & Found Supervisor where I assisted with interviewing new potential hires and volunteers providing training for those who were accepted and if needed writing up issues for HR to manage. I also assisted in using county trucks to bring featured pets to groomers and was responsible for assuring any exotic pets and livestock received the care and nutrition they required.

Enjoy horseback riding and going to the gun range to shoot handguns, rifles and shot guns. Love to dispatch for San Bernardino County Emergency Communications Service who operate. Under County Fire. Part of our local Community Emergency Response Team since 2016 and am also a Certified Trainer who teaches both basic classes as well as the Animals in Emergency classes for the county. I am an active HAM radio operator and also enjoy making jewelry in my spare time.
