Ashley Furniture – Winston Salem NC
AS400 RPG Free 1/2021 - 3/2021
Helped maintain AS400 WMS system while employees trained for High Jump (cloud WMS)
Legal Shield – Oklahoma City, Ok.
AS400/RPG FREE and Embedded SQL, 8/27/18 – 6/26/2020 Legal Insurance.
Legal Shield is an Agile oriented company. We use pc based JIRA to help use manage our modifications.
85% of my work has been with embedded SQL within SQLRPGLE.
My work has mainly been focused on enrollments.
Church Mutual Insurance – Merrill, Wisconsin
AS400/RPG III & FREE Format Developer, 6/4/18 – 8/03/18
By using X-Analysis, I am going through 1600 CL’s and categorized them by policy/claims/account etc.
Purpose is to group onto the M-Control (scheduler) by category.
They needed an RPG programmer to do this because a programmer knows how to drill down to the last called program and read the RPG code.
Some programs are in RPGIII with input primary files and level breaks. Others are in FREE format.
Church Mutual hired me because I know all versions of RPG.
Nakanishi Corporation - Athens, Georgia
AS400/RPG III, 12/17 to 1/18
Makes auto parts. Job is to expand 3 digit LOT # to 13 bytes. Job is split into two phases:
I analyzed the number of programs that will require modification and submitted my analysis to Tokyo with a cost estimate.
Vitamin World - Bohemia, New York
AS400/RPGIV/SQL (Contractor), 10/17 to 11/17
Nature’s Bounty sold Vitamin World. I was hired to assist the staff in the migration of their data/software to Vitamin Worlds’ AS400. I verified the data migrated to Vitamin World using SQL. SQL was used to verify if data transferred received by Vitamin World matched transferred data from Natures’ Bounty. I also provided assistance with problem solving.
KVAT (Corporate for Food City/Super Dollar supermarkets) - Abingdon, Virginia
AS400/RPGIV/RPG FREE (Contractor), 11/14 to 7/17
Initially brought in to expand all their vendor numbers from 6 to 8 digits.
Expanded an accounting control number from 7 to 9 digits. This lasted 4 months.
After installing over 300 programs and display files with no issues, they decided to extend my contract time with them. The 4 month contract ended after 2 years and 8 months as they are transitioning away from the AS400 and ran out of work for me.
Successfully completed numerous small to medium size projects for accounting. This included A/R deductions, Pricing books sent to Food City supermarkets, and many display screen update/inquiries for accounting.
Utilized RPGIV with some old RPG that used input primary (IP). I also wrote some new programs in RPG Free. The wanted me to keep the RPGIV for software consistency purposes. I tend to use the BIF’s as much as I can.
Converted many subroutines from RPGIV to “FREE”.
Von Duprin - Indianapolis, Indiana
Contractor, 3/14 to 7/14
Brought on to help maintain their RPG system while their employees were learning a new software system.
Computer Aid Inc. (CAI) - Canonsburg, Pennsylvania
Contractor - RPGILE/Free, 7/13 to 11/15/13
The scope of the project was to expand a status code from 2 digits to 3 digits for Fedex (CAI’s customer). I modified 47 programs for this conversion.
Incorporated some repetitive ILE procedures to modernize the code. Even though most of the programs were RPGIV and ILE, we were encouraged to use RPG FREE whenever we could. Coding, testing and documenting were involved.
AMERICOLD LOGISTICS (Refrigerated food warehousing) - Atlanta, Georgia
RPG Programmer Analyst – AS400/RPG III, IV, and ILE/Free, 1996 to 3/11
AmeriCold is a food distribution company. We managed food product coming into the warehouse and then leaving and being sent to the customer. I and another programmer were able to convert all programs to Y2K compliancy. That earned me an unscheduled pay increase since we finished well before the year 2000.
Designed and coded a universal date code interpreter. Many different food customers have various date code formulas for their products. What I did was had the program figure out what that formula was and extract an expired shelf life date from it.
Integral part of the Y2K project
