In this position I was the sole structural engineer for the main contractor. The 2 towers of 60+ floors above ground involved outrigger floors and deep outrigger beams with shear plate. I coordinate with PT slab designer, MEP and façade contractors for their requirements in the structure. I provided design for formworks, Tower crane ties and other support requirement for site logistics. I also provided structural calculation as justifications for remedial works to be done on site, and in some cases justification for some deviations in as built- with confirmation from 3rd party consultants and specialist designer.

Al Faraa General Contracting ~ 2014– 2019 (Dubai, UAE) I was transferred to 4 different sites having finished the structure part of each project. Notable works include collaboration with an Airport consultant from the USA for our project with AMMROC- Al Ain which includes 2 airplane hangars (2 bay and 3 bays), hangar shade, taxiway and several other support structures. Structural Engineer
Al Hamad Engineering LLC ~ 2010- 2014 (Doha, Qatar) I worked on 3 projects with AHE. As most of the projects were in-house, own by the parent company of AHE, we did value engineering of those projects. We changed the structural design from IFC and submitted the revised design to the consultant which was approved and submitted to the municipality. We also did rebar drawings using Autocad structural detailing. The gas plant- warehouse for filling gas tanks was also designed in-house.

My work requires me to model, analyze and design building structures in Dubai. I also did some structural integrity investigations on some projects. Worth mentioning is the design of the marina restaurant and log houses at the Palm Jumeirah The restaurant is on a steel pile with a steel structure base. Meinhardt Philippines Incorporated ~ 2006- 2007 (Makati City, Philippines) MPI is a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, and part of my role is to coordinate with Architects, and MEP engineers to incorporate their requirements in the structural design. Building modeling, analysis, and design as per local and international codes and providing details to draftsman were the main responsibility. I also did some structural investigation for Hewlett-Packard rented buildings as part of their company policy for their occupied building to meet FEMA and NEHRP requirements.

Most of the buildings designed were high-rise mixed-used towers with commercial space on the lower floors and either office or residential on the upper floors. Estelo C Tumblod (ECT) Consulting Engineer ~ 2003-2004 (Quezon City, Philippines) Notable works include physical inspection of the Philippine Senate building which shows considerable cracking, concrete spalling and rebar corrosion. The team utilized-performance-based analysis and used plastic hinges to maximize the capacity of the members and minimize retrofit with steel jacketing for column and carbon fiber wrap for beams. First and foundational introduction to design software (CSI- ETABS, SAFE, SAP) with extensive reading of software technical manuals.
