Dear Hiring Personnel,

My name is Swapna Dutta, and I’m a recent graduate from a family nurse practitioner (FNP) program at Loyola University New Orleans. I have had extensive training of 799+ hours of varying acuity levels for patients across the life span in multiple outpatient clinics.

During my FNP practicum rotations, I was privileged to work in clinics that serve medically underserved patient populations and various ethnic populations in all age groups. Thus, my FNP practicum rotations included elaborate medical training in an American-Indian Reservation clinic, a nurse practitioner-owned primary care clinic, an internal medicine clinic, a federal- and state-funded community clinic for the pediatric population, a for-profit tertiary-care hospital-based women’s health clinic, and a state university-run medical school clinic for women’s health.

Training in the above-mentioned medical clinics has made me a competent FNP to assess, diagnose, treat, manage, evaluate, monitor, and educate patients, families, and caregivers following individualized and evidence-based patient care guidelines. In addition, my previous Masters in Nursing in Advanced Population Health (MNAPH) from Washington State University provided extra training, understanding, and exposure in health promotion and patient care following the evidence-based standard and clinical guidelines in all levels of prevention.

My other experience and expertise include good time management skills, ability to master quickly new computer skills, and ability to work independently and as a team member. In addition, I have 13+ years of experience in acute/emergent and home health nursing and case management.

I believe that my didactic and practicum training and exposure in FNP and MNAPH and my previous nursing work experience make me an excellent candidate to be hired as an FNP at your clinic.

Thank you for your time. I look forward to speaking with you.

Sincerely,

Swapna Dutta
