Stress Analysis of Hydraulic Jack test rig

Linear static stress analysis of the hydraulic jack test rig was carried out using MSC Nastran and Patran. Column and beam structural members were represented using 1D element in the finite element model. Stress report was generated based on the results obtained in the form of deformation and stresses

Linear buckling analysis of columns and panels

Linear buckling analysis of columns and panels was carried out using MSC Nastran and Patran. The analysis results were compared with that of the values obtained by hand calculations.

Stress analysis of panels with various shapes

Stress analysis of the panels with and without cutout was carried out using MSC patran and Nastran. Circular cutout and capsule shaped cutout was considered for the stress analysis independently. Stress concentration factor and variation of stress distribution around the cutout were obtained from the analysis

CAD model preparation of a small aircraft vertical tail CAD modeling of a vertical tail for a small aircraft was carried out using CATIA V5 software tool. With reference from the NMG of the aircraft, ribs, spars and skin were modeled. The work is in progress.

Design and development of composite panels

CAD modeling of composite panels for medical applications was carried out using CATIA V5, and analysis for the same was carried out using MSC Nastran and Patran. Analysis was run for three different materials such as Glass fiber, Carbon fiber and Glass fiber combined with honeycomb. Fabrication was carried out for the same.
