Erection & preservation of BOP Equipment

Tank erection supervisor, BSDG 4 UNITS, FUEL GAS AREA, WATER TRETMENT PLANT, FLARE SYSTEM, FIRE FIGHTING SYSTEM ABOVE GROUN Vessel & Tanks Erection and Installation a) Check for any transit/handling/storage damage to the external surface of the vessel especially the nozzles. Check if there is any distortion in alignment. b) Check the internal surface for any damage to the lining, for presence of any foreign matters, dust or dirt and remove as necessary.

c) Ensure that the crane available is of sufficient capacity with a boom height capable of lifting and placing the vessels over their foundations.

e) Ensure the availability of required qualified manpower and equipment, shackles and slings. f) Check the dimensions of the respective foundations, elevation, pocket sizes and the distance between the pocket if applicable.

g) Fix the slings to the appropriate lifting lugs. Erection supervisor/ Technician should ensure that slings being used are appropriate to handle the Empty weight of respective Vessel. h) For this specific Job as the Vessels are being placed directly on the plinths, hence before installing the Vessels, pockets in civil should be checked to suit the anchor supplied and as indicated in the Vessel General Arrangement drawing & foundation drawings Installation of Skids

- Check all skid foundation dimensions elevation level and pockets.

- Open packing cases and check equipment for any damage preferably as close to its final location as possible.

- Place the base frames over the bolt pockets and align the blots.

- Grout the foundation bolts and pockets., Tighten the nuts.

- Follow procedures outlined above for grouting

Interconnecting Piping Erection and Installation

- Sort the pipes into individual lots as per the lines they form the respective part of.

- Arrange them as per their numbers in line with their relevant piping drawing.

- Check for any physical damage.

- Stack the required number and sizes of nuts, bolts, washers and gaskets.

- Stack the relevant valves and take care that no damage occurs during handling.

- Check if all supports are installed and are to correct level.

- Stack the respective clamps.

- Using the relevant piping Layout and P & ID’s as a reference the pipe installation can be started. This shall be done in accordance with the guidelines laid down in the general engineering practice for piping erection & pipe supports. Pipework and Support Installation.

- The inside surfaces of all pipe shall be cleaned by air blown before erection.
