ZIMBABWE PLATINUM MINES- PLANNING AND PROJECTS

(Central Engineering)

Project Engineer – Ngezi Concentrator Third Plant Project – 2021 to Present The project is a US$93.4 million, 1Mtpa, project and it commenced in January 2021 targeting commissioning in August 2022. I am the responsible person representing Zimplats interests on the project execution. Reporting to the project Executive the role involved

• Generating the Engineering Design criteria for the Concentrator plant

• Detailed designs for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation packages

• Procurement of all equipment and this involved generating and reviewing tender adjudication documents right through to order placement and expediting delivery of the equipment

• Managing the EPCM on the project.

• Construction Management

• Coordinating project meetings: Design review meetings, procurement meetings, project steercom meetings and progress meetings

• Responsible person for the safety, health, environment and quality on the project. ZIMBABWE PLATINUM MINES- PLANNING AND PROJECTS

Mineral Processing

Operations Engineer – SMC Concentrator 2019-2020

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role involved;

• Planning, leading organising and controlling day-to-day plant maintenance activities and monthly plant shutdowns

• Controlling the annual maintenance budget of US$4.6 million for the concentrator plant with a production capacity of 2.3million tonnes per annum

• Maintaining plant availability at 96.4% and running time of 98%

• Responsible person for safety, health, environment and quality

• Managing stay-in-business Capital projects such as silo relining, plant insurance spares and plant modifications

• Completed a US$6.6million Feed Preparation Plant (FPP) project for the concentrator plant within record time of 7 months and a cost. The project was undertaken at the height of the covid-19 pandemic and was a success.

• Complete the retrofitting of the high pressure grinding roles (HPGR) on the SMC Concentrator plant at a cost of US$3.6 million

ZIMBABWE PLATINUM MINES- PLANNING AND PROJECTS

(Central Engineering)

Planning & Projects Engineer: April 2017-2019

Reporting to the General Manager Engineering and covering the Zimplats Group, the role involves

• Management of expansion and stay-in-business projects from front end loading through to project commissioning and handover. The total value of projects is US$137million.

• Approval of engineering designs and drawings for key projects in line with best practices.

• Formulation of systems and procedures for company-wide projects management and engineering maintenance planning. These systems feed into the overall engineering projects and maintenance policy.

• Improving capital efficiency for projects through administering best practice project management techniques such as the earned value approach.

• Formulating systems for critical equipment life extension and replacement philosophy.

• Identification and recommendation of key Electrical and Mechanical international standards applicable to Zimplats operating environment and tracking the use of the standards by the various Engineers.

• Identification of key technologies, carrying out technology trials and roll out to improve mining and plant efficiency, safety standards and to reduce plant operating cost.

• Developing reports for the Directors, EXCO, the Board and engineering required by the business.

• Managing the Chegutu employee housing scheme and the Ngezi-Selous road rehabilitation projects.

• Rolling out trackless mining machines (TMM) automation and replacement philosophy to reduce capital expenditure.

ZIMBABWE PLATINUM MINES-NGEZI AND SMC CONCENTRATORS

(Platinum Mineral Processing)

SECTION ENGINEER: Nov 2011 to March 2017

• Managing the safety and health of employees and the environment in which the concentrator operates
