Resume:

Geoffrey A.M. Allen

**** *********** ****, *******, ** 27612 919- 260-9227 ***************@*****.***

Objective

To use my engineering education in a professional environment and develop it into practical experience and while working towards becoming a licensed PE.

Education

North Carolina State University

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, graduated in May 2021. Final GPA of 3.5.

Completed technical electives including Design of Thermal Systems, HVAC Systems, Energy Conservation in Industry, Design of Solar Systems and Product Design.

Employment

Piedmont Geotechnical, May 2019- October 2021 (Contractor)

I performed data analysis and researched course material for Continuing Education courses, primarily in Civil Engineering topics. The most common were in the design, maintenance, and monitoring of dams as well as general fluid analysis. Additionally, I performed on-site inspections for mobile and modular homes.

Eco Turf Inc., May 2021- October 2021

I conducted inspections on homebuilding and land development sites evaluating how well the environmental protection measures installed were maintained. In case of an issue, I would coordinate with my superiors and the managers of the site to fix the problem in a timely manner.

JLL at Fidelity Campus, November 2021- Present

As an Operating Engineer I am responsible for inspecting and maintaining infrastructure at Fidelity’s campus, including UPS systems, generators, and other equipment necessary for the daily operation of the campus. If the equipment required work that I and my coworkers could not provide, then we communicate with external vendors and assist them with the repair or replacement of any equipment. Additionally, I controlled quality of life systems, such as temperature, airflow and humidity via the campus BMS system.

Skills and Certifications

Building Energy Analysis and Management

At NC State I took several courses which taught me to evaluate the theoretical electrical, thermal and airflow requirements of buildings and their occupants.

At JLL I used the BMS system to monitor actual conditions on the campus and make simple adjustments to the system to ensure the health and comfort of the occupants and its critical systems.

Programming

Proficient in coding with Matlab, Java, and Excel VBA

Familiar with Python, HTML, and C

I have written programs that control simple machines, perform complex mathematical analysis, reformat data from files into a standardized form, and for other purposes in my time at NC State and JLL.

Design and Manufacturing

In my time at a woodshop and as a part of Senior Design at NC State I have:

Experience working with customers to create designs and schematics that meet their needs

Practice creating estimates of the costs, time, and manpower required for a project

Worked both leading and as part of a team to create new designs or refine existing prototypes

Analyzed both theoretical designs and actual products via vibrational and finite element analysis

Inspection and Evaluation

During my time at Piedmont Geotechnical, Eco Turf and JLL I was responsible for inspecting on site conditions and equipment to determine what is not up to code or could present problems in the future, then coordinating with either my employer or other contractors to resolve the issue quickly and efficiently.
