Responsibilities as a Linux System Administrator

Building Bash Shell Scripts to automate day to day tasks. Also automating production processes by making customized shell scripts using tools like awk and sed etc.

Responsible for installation, Configuration and Troubleshooting of Nginx, Nagios, PHP, Samba.

Carrying out database administrator tasks such as configuration of Mysql Server, Setting up Mysql Replication. Creating databases and granting privileges for developers.

Backup & Restoration of databases using mysqldump utility. Migration of data between servers using scp, rsync, lftp. Installing and upgrading software packages using rpm and yum utilities. Scheduling day to day tasks using cron jobs.

Implemented storage solutions using LVM.

. Administering and configuring DM Multipath in Linux servers. Tech support to development team, setting up Nginx-php, Mysql, sendmail, and variety of open source solutions.

Server monitoring, Nagios, automation and alert configuration. Applying patches, source compilation, optimization & performance tuning. Basic Network Administration i.e. routes, connectivity, network troubleshooting. Support and plan system backups and data recovery strategies. Hardening Server and services.

Analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with live production servers and recommend ways to optimize performance and provide solution to problems and prepare reports for all such problems. Monitoring of production servers 24*7 using Nagios monitoring tool and resolving issues if any occurred as 24*7 production support Configuration of Nagios monitoring tool, NRPE, Nagios graphs and Check_Mk Basic knowledge of working on JENKINS, ANSIBLE, GIT and AWS (EC2 and S3). Highly adept at working on Red-hat, Cent OS,
