Other than routine operation and maintenance management jobs onboard vessel, the following special duties are dealt with:

Safety officer and Risk manager for Engine room.

Identification and mitigation of hazards prior to start of job.

Conduct safety audits in compliance with ISM/Company SMS.

Preparing vessel for various PSC inspections like AMSA, USCG etc.

Preparing vessel for Charterer’s/Owner’s/Vetting inspection.

Engine crew welfare – attending to crew conflicts, complaints handling as per MLC.

Trouble/Breakdown/accident/crew conflict investigation and reporting to company.

Preparing vessel for Dry docking within allocated budget.

Mentor for training sub-ordinates/cadets.

Job Highlights:

Completed Dry dock preparation, finalized Dry dock specs, prepared all Spare/Store requisitions for the upcoming Dry dock.

Entered ECA areas strictly in compliance with Marpol Annex VI emission regulations, and other MARPOL/SOLAS/ISM/MLC regulations. Special attention given to local regulations.

Cleared AMSA (Australian Maritime Safety Agency) PSC inspection at Australian ports.

Compliance with SEEMP (Shipboard energy efficiency management plan) achieved during my tenure.
