ANAESTHESIA AND INTENSIVE CARE EXPERIENCE
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE (Jan 2010 to Aug 2015)
Mohan Dai Oswal Hospital, Ludhiana was a 300 bedded multispeciality hospital which deals primarily in oncological surgeries. I was working as a DNB Resident in the Department of General Anesthesia & ICU in the hospital. My duties included pre-anaesthetic evaluation of patients, taking necessary clearance for optimization of the patient including coordinating with different departments involved in patient care .Explaining patients and their relatives regarding surgery, anaesthesia, and post-operative period with the help of our surgical team. I was also responsible for prescribing pre anesthetic medication, anaesthetic administration and putting invasive lines which included central venous line, hemodynamic monitoring and fluid management intra operatively. I was also entering data about intraoperative hemodynamics during surgery. Our patients profile included laproscopic surgeries, orthopaedic surgeries, obstetric and gynaecological surgeries, ENT and Head & Neck surgeries, general surgeries. Major patient load in our institute was for oncological surgeries. Post surgery we shifted the patients to the surgical ICU and hand them over to the ICU Team and depending on rotation duty I was a part of the ICU team. I was posted for rotation night duties for our postoperative patient in surgical ICU. Apart from this I was available on call as per rotation for difficult intubation, difficult venous cannulation both central and peripheral from wards and ICU of hospital.
