E.PROFESSIONAL & ADMINISTRATIVE EXPERIENCE
3 July 2012 – 18 October 2012 Specialist of Pathology at the Government District Hospital, Unnao, India
District hospital, Unnao is a government run 200 bed general hospital with all specialties. I worked as a full-time consultant pathologist, and had the opportunity of heading the blood bank.
22 Oct 2012 – 1 January 2014 Consultant Pathologist at the “Prakash Multispecialty Hospital” in Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh
Prakash multi-specialty hospital is a 150 bedded super-speciality hospital in the Purvanchal area of Uttar Pradesh, India which is equipped with all modern facilities along with specialists and super-specialists. I was the first histopathologist in the entire Purvanchal area to set-up a histopathology & cytology laboratory. A minimum of 10-15 histopathology cases per day were done at the hospital, with the shortest turn-around time of 2-3 days. Fine Needle Aspirates, Pap smears and other cytology cases were reported on the same day. Due to quality of the reports and the excellent TAT, patients travelled from the neighboring states to get themselves evaluated.
5 Jan 2014 – 1 July 2014 Consultant Pathologist and Laboratory Head at SRL-Ranbaxy Laboratories, India
Worked as “Lab head and consultant Pathologist for SRL labs based in my hometown - Kanpur.
SRL-Ranbaxy laboratories are a renowned multinational enterprise having chain of laboratories in India known for their diagnostic & patient care excellence. It has over 100 laboratories in India and other Asian countries.
The laboratory located at Kanpur performed all routine hematological, biochemistry, immunology & serology tests. I was managing the histopathology and cytology section. Special stains were also performed in this laboratory. I performed and reported core needle biopsies of the breast and soft tissue lesions, as well as bone marrow aspiration and trephine biopsies.
5 July 2014 – 4 April 2015 : Chief Consultant Pathologist at “Mediheal Group of Hospitals”, East Africa
“Mediheal Group of Hospitals” is based in East Africa, with hospitals in Nairobi, Nakuru and Eldoret in Kenya, and a facility in Kigali, Rwanda. I worked as their group Chief Pathologist and was based at Nairobi. Histopathology & cytology samples were sent to Nairobi and were reported by me.
22 May 2015 – 10 September 2015 : Chief of Laboratory services at “Metropolis Healthcare Limited”, Zambia - West Africa
Metropolis Healthcare is an India based, multinational chain of Diagnostic Laboratories in India and abroad. They operate in Mumbai, Srilanka, Mauritius, Kenya and Ghana.
I played a major role in setting up their laboratory in Zambia, in the field of histopathology, cytology and other relevant pathological aspects.
18 September 2015 – 20 May 2017 : Consultant Pathologist at the “Dey’s Hospital Pvt Ltd., Kanpur, India.
Dey’s hospital is a multi-specialty hospital based in Kanpur, India with a good in-house fully equipped Pathology laboratory. The laboratory works in accordance with the ISO 15189 standards.
25 May 2017 – Till date (4 years 5 months): Working as “Consultant Pathologist & Head of the Department at “The Aga Khan Hospital”, Kisumu, Kenya.
Heading the department in the fields of Histopathology, Cytology, Hematology & Molecular pathology. Recently we have started with the covid-19 testing on PCR platform.
The department also deals with a number of renal biopsy cases with in house Immunofluoroscence on these specimens.
The laboratory is certified as per ISO-15189 2012 standards & continues to be accredited by the “South African National Accreditation System (SANAS).
Awarded the first laboratory in East Africa to achieve “Zero Non-conformances” in the re-accreditation audits of June 2020 under my leadership. This has never been done by an East Africa laboratory before.
The laboratory has been able to maintain the accreditation of SANAS for the year 2021-22
Recently, the laboratory has started the Molecular division with PCR testing on various parameters.
The laboratory is in process of CAP accreditation.
The Hospital is accredited by “SAFE CARE” Level 5 standards and is in process to get the JCIA accreditation by 2021.

Volunteering in various charitable activities and serving Humanity.
Volunteering has been and continues to be an integral part of my life. I have been volunteering in various activities like blood donation camps, breast cancer screening and cervical cancer screening programme carried out by the “Indian Medical Association” of Kanpur branch, India. Also, I was involved in various voluntary projects carried out by the “Mediheal Group of Hospitals”, Kenya and by the “Hindu Council of Kenya”- Kisumu branch. This aspect of life has taught me to get more of a human touch and serve humanity.

Worked as an investigator for a study regarding “Association of Helicobacter Pylori cag A & vac A genotypes with gastric adenocarcinomas in Kenya- an 8 year study.
Attained Green belt in the prestigious Six Sigma course as per Quality laboratory standards.
Participated as a delegate in “Pathology short course” organized by MD Anderson Cancer Center, Texas, U.S.A at the “Aga Khan University Of Medical Sciences in Nairobi –August 2019.
Participated as a delegate in the “Hands on Workshop On Molecular Pathology & Cytogenetics in “Tata Medical Center”, Kolkata in June 2019.
Observership at the prestigious “Tata Memorial Cancer hospital- Mumbai” in the fields of Surgical /Anatomical Pathology, Immunohistochemistry & Molecular Pathology in December 2018.

Trained in Immunohistochemistry & initiated, with further development of a functioning Immunohistochemistry laboratory, the first in western part of Kenya. Currently performing 56 antibodies. Training done at “Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital (TMH), Mumbai.
Participated as an international delegate at the “International Symposium on Immunohistochemistry, January 2018, conducted by the “Tata Medical Centre”, Kolkata, India in association with Nordic-QC, Denmark. Won the third prize in the poster presentation. The topic of the poster presentation was a case study of- “Unusual presentation of Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma in the Eye ball for an African scenario”

Trained for Bone marrow aspiration cytology under Dr. Shantiveer Uppin of the esteemed Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad, India.
Underwent “Hands on course” for Recent advances in Immunohistochemistry, Flow cytometry and FISH techniques at Apollo hospital & HICC-Hyderabad.
Underwent a specialized 10 days vigorous training program for pathologists at “Metropolis Healthcare, Mumbai” at their research & referral lab at Mumbai.
Certified & trained in “Quality Management systems and internal audit in medical labs as per the standards of ISO-15189” in accordance with the NABL guidelines and recognized by Quality Council of India
Convener and conducted a National level CME on “Update on Bone marrow cytology -2011 at MIMSR Medical College- Latur, Maharashtra, India

Invented a new stain by the name HEA50 for histopathology specimens namely breast, lymph nodes, liver and other gastrointestinal organs. The stain is yet to be patented.
