Emulsion quality control to regulate density of emulsion so that the optimum energy of the emulsion can be released to break rocks;

Borehole tracking to check orientation of blastholes so as to prevent formation of boulders and toes;

Assisting driver mechanic in operation of Mobile Manufacturing Unit (MMU);

Activities performed

Planning and Production

General introduction to minesight 3D software;

Drilling pattern design with shortplus software;

Participated in planning weekly and daily production, i.e. where to mine to feed gyro to achieve head mill grade and target tonnes;

Present blasted, released muckpile and road alarms at production meeting;

Participated in coordinating people, machinery and equipment to achieve optimal production in accordance with mine plan priorities at dispatch.

Mine Survey

Prism monitoring using the total station and GPS controller ;

Marking out point for reverse circulation drill rig to properly align with the orientation of the orebody with the help of GPS controller and its receiver;

Stake crest and toe of a bench which will be buttered at an angle using pegs, tape, inclinometer, GPS controller and receiver;

Taking blast perimeter with GPS and receiver;

Ore mark out with GPS controller and receiver;

End of month stockpile measurements, taking crest, toe and spotheight of stockpiles. Geotech and Hydrology

Data analyzes of coordinates of prism given by mine survey. Determining displacement of each prism and finding out factors causing higher displacement at some section of the pit wall;

Recording pore water pressure using vibrating wireless piezometer.

Drill and Blast

Introduction to the general operations of the Atlas Copco drill rig;

Jigsaw system on drill rigs training;

Educating drillers on Jigsaw system opeartions and re-educating drillers on the new updates installed.
