My name is Brittany Rhoda. I have completed my LLB Law degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 2020. I have grown an enormous passion for law, after being exposed to various practice areas of law. I am excited to apply for an opportunity to put into practice what I have learnt from the efforts in attaining my degree. I am eager to enter the working world and gain experience, which will ultimately assist me to grow into a more capable and accomplished legal professional. I am currently half-way through completing my master’s degree at the University of Stellenbosch, focusing on modules or areas of law that are of particular interest to me. These include International Law and Children’s Rights, Comparative Apartment Ownership, Equality in the Workplace and Intellectual Property Law in the Digital Environment.

As a law student, dedication and perseverance are certainly qualities that I have been encouraged to harness and now excel at. My academic records show that I prioritise my studies and I believe that with hard work, dedication and a positive attitude, great things can be achieved. I was involved in several university societies and organisations because I hold the view that a balance between hard work and a healthy social life is not only an admirable trait, but an important one. As a full-time student, my work opportunities were limited, and this was further exacerbated by the recent global pandemic which resulted in companies being reluctant to avail vacation work so that students may gain some practical work experience. I understand that gaining work experience is invaluable, and this has made me even more eager to be exposed to the practical side of practicing law.

The values of integrity, respect, perseverance and unity are ones that I am strongly aligned to. I am hard working, diligent and have a passion for helping others. My strong work ethic and eagerness to learn, will make me an asset for any company that sees fit to give me an opportunity to apply my skills and knowledge accordingly.
