Over the last several years I have acted as a player/manager in field development planning, field rehabilitation, drilling, facilities renewal and reserves evaluation in teams that include everyone from geoscientists and reservoir engineers through operations and construction engineers. I continue being hands-on as a static modeller and petrophysicist, retaining a very high level of technical competency.

I can offer peer review, advisory and consulting services regarding static modelling, field development planning, reservoir management and reserves evaluation. I can advise on and participate in project planning and management for integrated projects ranging from appraisal through construction.

Brunei Shell Petroleum

Team leader of an integrated operations/execution team to drill 140+ infill production and water injection wells for the Champion field offshore Brunei. Responsible to ensure that all Subsurface HSSE critical items were addressed and that proper HAZID, HAZOP and SIMOPS were carried out. Budget holder for $300+ million per year.

Optimised the subsurface locations and reduced the number of platforms visited to improve the economics of the project.

Developed rock type and effective porosity models in Petrel & maintained a 3d Model for peer review purposes.

Sonangol Pesquise e Produção, Angola (Initially contracted through Schlumberger)

Deputy project manager for infill drilling and field rehabilitation valued at more than $1 billion. Responsible to ensure that all HSSE critical items were addressed. Initiated a Moduspec inspection that resulted in 3 months in dry dock for the rig. This saved considerable lost time in the project.

Advisor for the takeover of operatorship of 130,000 BOPD production from Total and Chevron including more than 26 producing fields.

Evaluation of exploration prospects to take working interest in Libya, Nigeria, Angola, Gabon, Congo and Australia.

Evaluation of the feasibility for development of a super-giant heavy oil field in Iraq. Sonangol has subsequently been successful in obtaining a service agreement.
