From June 2013 to May 2015
I worked as a rural Family Physician in a small town called Sundre, 1.5hrs drive northwest of Calgary. As well as working as a GP, I worked in the Emergency Department of the Sundre Hospital where I was involved in the management of trauma cases, acute medical conditions, minor ailments and injuries. I also looked after inpatients in the acute care and long term care facilities of the hospital. I taught Medical Students from The University of Alberta.
I helped set up an antenatal clinic, to provide continuity of care for pregnant women, aiming for a more multidisciplinary approach to maternal and infant care in Sundre. During my stay in Alberta I noticed that there was a great gap in the palliative care service provision and found that I developed a great enthusiasm for it.

Future Plans
I have been in my Partnership for almost 4 years. I have enjoyed my time as a partner but feel that I would like to return to being a portfolio GP because I enjoy varied roles and would like to make more use of my interest and skills in gynaecology.
