My Position at the INDIA CEMENTS LIMITED:-

(A)As Sr.General Manager (Mines) and functioning as Head of the department. I report to the Vice President (Mfg), who is the head of the plant at this location. The plant here has an installed capacity of 2.85Million tons of clinker per annum having three Mechanized captive limestone mines having capacity of 4.2 Million tons supply of Limestone, located in radius of 10Kms from plant are operated for supplying the Limestone to the plant on a consistent (Quality-Quantity-Wise) basis.

(B)The total manpower of Mines department is 98.of which 19 are executives who report to me.

(C)I am the Agent of the Raasi Mines Group Vocational Training Centre, Catering to the training needs of 32 mines attached to the cements plants. In Nalgonda, Guntur and Krishna Districts of A.P.

(D)I am the member of the “Plant Improvement Committee” set for continual improvement of the plant Performance.

(E)I am the member of the ”Higher Power Committee” set up by the plant chief for finalization of various works/Rates required to tack up with Contract operations in plant or mines.

(F)I am the member of the “Plant Safety Committee” Set by the plant chief.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

As HEAD of Mining department, overall responsible for all Mines activities in ICL Vishnupuram Works, Reporting directly to the Chief Executive of the Plant.

Achieving the targeted production of appropriate quality to meet the requirement of Plant as per the Projected/Budgeted figures, keeping a Hawks’s eye on the cost per unit of Production.

Optimum and efficient utilization of the available resources viz. Men, Material and Machinery

Continuous improvement of the productivity and overall performance of Heavy Earth Moving Equipment.

Efficient management of inventory of HEMM equipment spares so as to maintain the same at the optimum levels.

To continually explore the options available for achieving the ultimate goal of the management viz “ Lowest cost per tonne”

Maintaining the manpower strength at optimum level in consonance with operational requirement of the department.

Planning, monitoring and controlling of operation and capital expenditure as per department budget approvals by corporate office.

Total administration of the mines department-manpower planning, effective and efficient deployment/re-deployment of the available manpower suiting to the operational needs from time to time, developing multi-skilled work force, appropriate planning for meeting the training and development needs of the mines employees on regular basis.

To ensure judicious compliance of the provisions of the various statues applicable to mining operation.

Maintaining appropriate liaison with various state and central Government departments viz. DGMS. IBM, Labour department, Labour welfare organization, Department of Mines & Geology e.t.c to ensure compliance with various directives/circulars issued by these departments from time to time.
