Received an Army Achievement Medal for operations at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. After 5 years as an instructor, trained 1,432 soldiers. 70% of those trained became sergeants or higher. Every soldier trained for Operation Desert Storm.

Specialized in pyrotechnics and demolition in Land Mine Warfare. Squad medic, M67 Recoiless Rifle, and first to fire M136 AT4 in Europe. Advanced Party, meaning our alert readiness was to roll out within the first hour in notification of war. Competed in Sapper Stakes Competition placing 16th place in all of US Army Europe (over 1,200 squads). Received 5 Commendation Letters. Trained for future leadership roles. Determination helped received "operator" status, meaning not willing to quit and accomplish the mission at all cost. Identified as a potential Drill Sergeant Candidate. Provided support in Wieldflecken, BRD (West Germany), when Berlin Wall came down in November 1989.
