PTML (Ufone) is a leading GSM service provider in Pakistan, with a 2.5G network, and a subscriber base of more than 30 million. I was associated with the BSS operations department of the company where my major job responsibilities included:

• Worked as OMO coordinator for operational activities for Ufone as host and Ufone as guest sites. Handling fault escalation, follow up and resolutions.

• Operation, maintenance, monitoring, and rectification of all faults related to BSS equipment including BSC, BTS, TRAU, and PCU. The equipment used by PTML (Ufone) is from Huawei and Nortel.

• Operation, maintenance, monitoring, and rectification of all faults related to AC and DC power equipment including commercial supply transformers, diesel generators, and rectifiers. The rectifiers used by PTML (Ufone) were from Emerson and Eltek.

• Carrying out preventive routines of the BSS, transmission and power equipment to ensure smooth working of the network.

• Monitoring of alarms and rectification of faults related to BSS, transmission, power and environment (air- conditioning, fire-fighting) during 24/7 on-call duties. Experience

Nortel Networks

Nortel Networks, a world-renowned telecommunication equipment vendor, installed the entire GSM network for PTML (Ufone) from 2000 to 2006. I was associated with the company as a supervisor in the BSS department where my major responsibilities included:

• Supervision of, and installation and commissioning of BTS, rectifier and transmission equipment, including installation of antennas, microwave dishes and feeders on the tower.

• Supervision of, and installation and commissioning of MSC modules.

• Using test tools including site analyzers (Bird, Anritsu), signal generators and BERT to troubleshoot and rectify VSWR related faults, power amplifier testing of BTS sites and problems with transmission equipment and transmission lines during pre-acceptance testing prior to invitation to customer for final testing and handing over.

• Carrying out acceptance testing for the customer for handing over of newly installed equipment. Experience

Technical Department, Digital Radio Paging Limited Digital Radio Paging Limited (DC Pager) was one of the pioneers of introducing paging technology to Pakistan. My major responsibilities during my association with the technical department were:
