CLINICAL SKILLS

1.Hospital Provincial del Centenario (2010 to present)

-As a Medical Doctor in the emergency Department, I developed the skills to admit patients, evaluate them, stabilize critical or polytraumatized patients. Develop necessary communication skills to consult with the different clinical and surgical services for the rapid treatment of patients.

-As a Resident of Anaesthesia (2007- 2010): I developed the necessary skills to perform the Preanesthetic Evaluation, monitoring patients in the Operating Room, administering general and regional anaesthesia.

-Communication skills between different clinical and surgical services, with patient clinical optimization prior surgery.

-Assessment, monitoring, anaesthesia and critical care of patients undergoing kidney and transplantation.

2.Fundación Favaloro (2010).

As a Cardiovascular Anaesthesia Fellowship, I developed the necessary training and skills to perform pre-anaesthetic evaluations (physical examination, radiography, spirometry, cardiac ultrasound, ergometry, carotid Doppler ultrasound) monitoring critical patients during surgery, including ECG, invasive blood pressure, placement of central venous catheter and swanz ganz catheter with measurement of hemodynamic values such as cardiac output, vascular resistance, measurement of pulmonary atrial ventricular pressures and wegde pressure. Perioperative management of fluids and transfusion of blood products during and after cardiac surgery in critically ill patients. Administering anaesthetic, vasoactive and anticoagulant agents depending on the needs of the patient in each of the stages of cardiac surgery.

3.Hospital de Emergencias Clemente Álvarez (2011-2013).

Operating Room.

I administer anesthesia for polytraumatized and neurosurgical patients, with head trauma, intracerebral hemorrhage, epidural or subdural hematoma. Hemodynamic monitoring, administration of vasoactive drugs, hemodynamic stabilization, transfusion of blood products. Arterial and central venues lines.

Intensive Care Unit.

Monitoring and treatment of critical patients, orotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation modes, CPAP, Pressure Support ventilation. Controlling neurosurgery postoperative patient with monitor of intracranial pressure (ICP). Assessment and treatment of polytraumatized patients. Stabilization and treatment in patients with respiratory and cardiac insufficiency. Renal failure, stabilization and monitoring of patients with gastrointestinal bleeding.

4.Sanatorio de la Mujer, Maternidad Martin and Roque Sanz Peña Hospital.

In these hospitals, I strengthened my skills as an anesthesiologist for obstetrics, collaborating in hundreds of deliveries, either administering epidural analgesia for childbirth or anesthesia for cesarean surgery.

5.Hospital Italiano Garibaldi (2010 -2012)

In addition to anaesthesia for adults, in this Hospital I obtained a lot of experience in anaesthesia for surgeries in premature patients, neonates and infants.

6.Sanatorio Británico (2011- to the present).

In this hospital I strengthened my skills as a Cardiovascular Anesthesiologist, gaining experience during 10 years. As well as I promote transesophageal echocardiographic monitoring.

I also developed skills for anesthesia in bariatric surgery. Assessing risk in morbid obese patients, risk scales (stop bang), safe ventilation modes, airway management in these patients, anesthesia and multimodal analgesia. ·

I have excellent technical skill in regional anesthesia, General Anesthesia, Spinal and Epidural Anesthesia. Ultrasound-Guided Regional Anesthesia.

· I have good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in a clear manner to convey information effectively to other persons, leadership in operating room.

· I possess critical thinking using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.

Update in Anesthesia for cardiovascular surgery, use of hemodynamic monitoring such as flotrac, swan ganz, mixed venous oxygen saturation, transcutaneous cerebral oxygen saturation, ANI, NOL, ROTEM.

8.Sanatorio Rosendo Garcia (2012 to the present).

Among my skills as Head of Anesthesia Service at this hospital, I can mention management of anesthesia human resources, application quality and safety programs in patient care, continuous improvements in equipment, leadership among colleagues to develop a work team. Organization of work schedule. Supply and quality management of disposable supplies and anesthetic medication.

As a European Society of Regional Anesthesia member, I perfected my skills in ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia in an important casuistry of patients undergoing trauma and orthopedic surgery. My skills in Anesthesia for this type of surgery include supraclavicular, median, axillary, ulnar, radial nerve blocks, in addition serratus, PECS I and II, iliac fascia, femoral, FCL, popliteal, ankle blocks.

My ICU tasks include, patients examinations, risk stratification (APACHE scale, GSC, etc) patient monitoring, Covid 19 patient management. Ventilatory assistance of patients in respiratory failure, assisted ventilation, support ventilation, CPAP administration, tracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, ventilation in the prone position of critically ill patients, placement of central venous lines and arterial lines. Also administering pharmacological therapy according to the need and requirement of patients (vasoactive drugs, vasopressors, vasodilators, bronchodilators, antihypertensives, hypnosedatives, thromboprophylaxis, antibiotics, antivirals). Following-up with laboratories and radiological examinations (CT, chest X-ray).

As an Anesthesia Resident Chief my skills as an educator consist of encouraging residents to clinical research, guidance in the study of the specialty, introduction to critical scientific literature. Also, in the field of practical skills I taught and supervised anaesthesiologic techniques such as spinal and epidural anaesthesia, orotracheal intubation, insertion of supraglottic devices, vigilant intubation, use of bronchofibroscope, etc.
