Responsible for helping with daily iSeries tasks such as user account administration, hardware and software support, restoring files, correcting system operator message issues, monitoring disk usage, and creating new printer definitions. Programmer / Analyst - Systems (1992 - 2000)

Responsible for the development and/or maintenance of many different programs written in C, SQL, and Oracle Forms. C programs were used in laser etching of dataplates, printing barcode labels, data collection from external gauges, a ship skid tracking system using a hand-held PC, a data collection system using a hand-held PC, a Win32 Console Application obtaining information from a fixed-mount bumpy barcode reader and transferring information to an Oracle database. SQL and Oracle Forms were used in engine audit, operator certification tracking, training tracking, and PC inventory systems. Programmer / Analyst - Assembly and Test (1979 - 1992) Responsible for maintenance of diesel engine test cycle programs. These programs performed analog and digital I/O, and passed or failed each engine built based on predetermined test specifications. Along with one other programmer, we rewrote and replaced an aging engine test computer system from assembly language to BASIC, replacing expensive scientific computers with much less expensive IBM PCs. I developed a system for tracking engine failures. Improved the engine shipping inventory system to simultaneously monitor inventory levels and inform fork truck operators of which engines to ship.
