ACADEMIC PROJECT

Design and analysis of composite leaf springs (LCV)

• The objective in compare deflection, equivalent elastic stain and equivalent stress glass fiber, E glass epoxy conventional leaf springs.(using software catia v5 20 )

• In this work an attempt is made to develop a glass fiber reinforced plastic leaf spring so that it can replace the existing conventional steel in an automobile suspension system.

• The replacement of steel with optimally designed composite leaf spring can provide 80 to 90% weight reduction.

• More than composite spring has lower stresses compared to steel spring,the result save fuel and reduce fuel consumption.
