General routine maintenance normally done twice a week. It includes and not limited to; overhauling of motors, cleaning of electrical machines and panels, lighting and greasing of the heavy machinery.
2. Planning of maintenance depending on the conditions of the machines 3. Daily inspection of the cement mills, packing plant, rotary kiln and the raw materials mill (Atox mill).
4. Periodic calibration of the mill feeders, packing plant packers, collection bins among other measurement equipment.
5. Coordination between the central control room and technicians on the ground to ensure the plant runs at optimum and minimize cases of avoidable breakdowns. 6. Periodic inspection of the sensors in the field to ensure accuracy of the data received on the central control room.
7. System Failure diagnosis when there are breakdowns. 8. Give periodic and timely feedback to my supervisor on progress, ongoing and completed duties.

September 2018-november 2018: Kenya electricity transmission co .ltd (KETRACO) As an academic requirement for my bachelor’s degree I was attached at KETRACO for a period of three months as an intern. Some of the duties and responsibilities I performed included. 1. Some of the duties assigned required my colleagues and I to prepare marshalling kiosks in the switch yard for termination. Technically this involved identifying cables in the kiosks and neatly laying them close to their respective terminal blocks ready for termination. The same procedure was also applied to control panels in the control room. 2. Another task was termination of cables. In both the 220 kv and 66kv switch yards, did terminate cables in marshalling kiosks. Termination of cables involves the use of handy tools, a stripper mainly for stripping of the cable insulation and a crimping tool for firm fixing of cable lags at now the naked end of the cables. The lagged cables are then screwed in to their respective terminal blocks.
3. Took part in installation of disconnectors ( an isolator with an earth switch) 4. Another duty was pulling of cables from the control room to the switch yard and the laying of the cables in cable rails.
5. We did fixing of cable glands. Cable glands ensure that the cables are firmly fixed to the marshalling kiosks or the control panels.
6. Took part in identifying cables and fixing of cable ferrules. Ferrules are cable tags which shows the source from where a cable starts and the end equipment where the same cable is terminated.
