Overview
Philip Tempkins is a highly skilled Violinist and Musician equally respected as violinist, violist, conductor, pedagogue, and chamber musician. His background as a professional player includes touring with Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett, as well as several others. Phil was a key member of the opening team for the Broward Center for the Performing Arts performing in Phantom of the Opera. He also played on Gloria Estefan’s album, Mi Tiara that received a Grammy Award. Mr. Tempkins was Principal Second Violin for the Florida Grand Opera, Boca Raton Pops, and Philharmonic Orchestra of Florida. Willing/able to travel.
A former public school music teacher, Phil has successfully mentored multiple students that received top awards at performances, as well as those who received scholarships to college. The performances he led consistently received Superior ratings for middle school orchestras in Broward County. Today, Phil is a highly sought-after private instructor for students of all ages and skill levels. Ever-curious and engaged with new ideas, Phil is abreast of the latest trends in music and violin instruction available today.

Private Violin Instructor 1973 - Present
Provide private instruction to students of all ages at all skills levels, as well as provide consulting services to schools and music programs.
Mentored multiple students that received top awards at performances, as well as those who received scholarships to college.
Encourage students to learn how to play musical instruments by exposing them to a number of musical genres, basic concepts of rhythm, melody, and musical theory.
Also taught private students at North Broward Prep School, as well as at a music store in Pembroke Pines.
Hired by schools to assist music teachers in evaluating their music programs and orchestras.
