Oil & Gas, Commercial, Residential and Hotel Constr/Renovation. Review and modify contracts, purchasing procedures, project mgt. and
cross-functional tasks. Hands on construction experience building new homes, renovations and operating heavy equipment as company owner.
Longer projects within the above time frame:
June 2012 - Oct 2013: Contractor position as Procurement Dept. head for the EPC General Contractor on a $150m refinery
construction project. Position focused on the development of a small staff to handle RFPs, negotiate contracts and track expenditures.
Jan 2017 - Oct 2017: Project Manager with PowerSecure coordinating purchasing, engineering, manufacturing,
transportation and construction/placement of large standby generators and associated switchgear.
Dec 2017 - Nov 2018: Consultant position with Halyard Health handling contracts for a large medical company going
through a divestiture. (Avanos and Owens & Minor are now the two companies on the NYSE replacing Halyard Health)
Nov 2018 - May 2019: Consultant position as a Project Manager in Aerospace manufacturing for Pratt & Whitney installing
complex equipment that produce aircraft engine blades and disks.
June 2008 - March 2009: Mesa Power Group - Subsidiary of BP (Boone Pickens) Capital
Director of Procurement responsible for developing and overseeing the contracts and purchasing functions for renewable energy projects.
Additional tasks revolved around review and analysis of all energy forms for future development (wind, solar, biomass, water,
natural gas). Initial project efforts were focused on a 1000MW wind farm in north Texas, transmission, land leases, water pipeline and load
balancing gas turbines. Multi-billion dollar project cancelled due to the Recession.
June 2007 - June 2008: Vanderlande Industries
Senior Strategic Agent managing RFPs and contract negotiations for automated warehouse systems, baggage handling and security
for major airports. Responsible for all construction contracts, project support services and corporate office facilities management contracts.
2004 - 2005: The Home Depot - Corporate Office
Category Manager responsible for strategic sourcing of capital equipment, materials, services and facilities operation contracts
necessary to support the construction and operation of new and remodeled Home Depot stores using seven steps, six sigma,
MS Project and SAP. Savings acquired via the use of reverse auctions and year on year price discounts on multi-year contracts
with an annual multi-billion dollar spend.
Mirant Corporation (formerly Southern Energy a subsidiary of The Southern Company)
1999 - 2003: Contracts Purchasing Manager - Atlanta Office
Responsible for all contracts issued for construction projects for North America and Europe. Duties included purchasing
of major capital equipment, construction materials, labor contracts, transportation agreements, consultant agreements,
environmental agreements, software agreements, Oracle change team member, tax issues, reverse auctions & cost savings, major
equipment storage and transportation in the U.S. and overseas. Company filed for bankruptcy in 2003, partial related to Enron debacle.
1998 - 1999: Sr. Manager, Budget and Contracts Administration - Southeast Asia Region
Senior Manager developing and overseeing the following departments: Budget, Contracts and Purchasing, Quantity and Productivity
Tracking and Warehousing for the construction of the $1.2 billion Power Plant in the Philippines. Project completed successfully
under extremely adverse conditions. Transferred back to Atlanta to the position above.
