December 2010 to Sept 2012 – Recruit Sustainment Program (RSP) Manager Planning RSP Supervisor plans and executing administrative, personnel, and logistical functions in support of preparing Soldiers for Initial Entry Training (IET). The primary duties include Vulcan data entry, Soldier outreach, and pre-ship quality control. Other duties are to:

• Monitor Training Program Metrics and program deliverables for the new Soldiers they supervise.

• Provide training, developmental counseling, and performance reviews to RSP contractors under their supervision.

• Contact newly enlisted Soldiers, coordinate their reception at the trainings sites, and sponsor them upon arrival.

• Contact Soldiers monthly regarding drill attendance, pre-shipping preparations, and other information as required.

• Counsel Soldiers on administrative, medical, educational, and other topics as needed.

• Monitor Soldiers for potential retention issues, and make every effort to mitigate those issues.

• Manage new Soldiers ship dates within prescribed timeframes to ensure maximum training seat utilization.

• Provide qualitative screening to ensure Soldiers are mentally prepared, administratively correct, and physically fit for shipping.

• Communicate with the Initial Active Duty Training Manager, MEPS Guidance Counselors, and TRADOC Liaisons regarding IADT Soldier issues.

• Process pay documents, promotions, awards, ID cards, education incentives, and other tasks as required.

• Maintain the Vulcan Database and perform daily input to actions relating to Soldiers, training, and the RSP site.

• Coordinate transition for Qualified Soldiers leaving training to begin drilling with their respective unit.

• Coordinate the use of local training sites, meals, transportation, and billeting for RSP drills.

• Prepare and mail monthly drill letters and welcome letters.

MILITARY EXPERIENCE

September 1983 to October 2010- Retired, Active Duty Service October 2008 to September 2010- Served as First Sergeant of Alpha Battery 1-258th Field Artillery Unit of 100 Soldiers

• Responsible for the management of Readiness and Training Program of the unit.

• Facilitated a HR strength program that raised the unit strength from 48% to 100% in two years. April 2005 to September 2008- Served as the Readiness Non- Commissioned Officer and Chief of Firing Battery of Alpha Battery 1-258th Field Artillery

• Served as a Casualty Assistant Officer for Soldier’s family. January 2004 to March 2005 – Served as Operations Non- Commissioned Officer of the Iraqi National Police Academy

• Oversaw the Initial Recruit course and coordinated with the Iraqi National Police Academy and with the Department of Justice civilians to train police cadets.

• Coordinated the training of Field Artillery Soldiers to assume their mission at the Academy. Was subsequently awarded a Bronze Star for exemplary duty. June 2000 to December 2003-Served as the Readiness Non-Commissioned Officer and Chief of Firing Battery of Bravo Battery 1-156th Field Artillery

• October 2001-Mobilized to New York City in support of 9/11 for three weeks as the Platoon Sergeant in charge of coordinating trucks coming in and out of the World Trade Center.

• Supervised all Human Resource functions for over 100 team members.

• May 2003- Mobilized to New York City for Civil Support to the Subway mission for thirty days as a Section Leader of a seven –man team.
