Performs routine private label product testing at Buyer’s request for food, sundries, and other warehouse product in on-site laboratory according to QA Lab Product Testing Guidelines. Tests product sent from multiple warehouses on preset schedule for quality control of in-store product.

Sorts, counts, weighs, measures, evaluate appearance, feel, smell, and taste. Analyzes product composition and characteristics, and performs other quality and statistical testing of food and sundry products using various lab equipment, measuring devices, chemical reaction, and sensory input. Fills in test results on product worksheets.

Enters product code dates and test data from manual work sheet into computer spreadsheet to create reports of test results. Compares test results to product specifications and highlights those results outside of product tolerance range.

Tests vendor samples for product comparison at Buyer request, sets up blind taste tests for foods, and assists with other special projects.

Communicates with warehouses, buyers, vendors, and senior management by email, phone, fax, and in person.

Reviews, updates and writes testing protocols for items in assigned categories. Suggests testing standards and submits protocols on new items to QA Lab Manager.

Packs and mails samples to outside labs and vendors for further testing. Receives and logs arriving samples into computer database. Tracks assigned sample categories and follows up with warehouses to ensure that all samples are shipped. Cleans and packages coolers for return to warehouses.
