Physically calling to Respondents homes, that the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) has recently sent letter. This letter concerns a survey that has been in progress since 1971. I travel every day, locally, and throughout the state of Oregon. A landmark state-wide study of people's health and access to care, to evaluate the healthcare experiences of those on the OHP reservation list. Results will be used to help leaders improve health care in Oregon and across the nation. Partners include CORE, OHSU, MIT, Harvard, and State of Oregon.
● Interview up to 90 study participants per week about their health and access to healthcare since 2008.
● Provide free health screenings including height, weight, blood pressure, and BMI. Take blood to determine glucose, cholesterol and protein levels. Portland group has been acknowledged by the CDC to be in the top tier in the nation for collection of DBS (dried blood spots).
● Inform participants of current low cost providers for health and dental care in the area.
● Travel to rural towns in OR to find participants and recruit them for the interview and health screening.
