I was one of two SENIOR TECHNICIANS responsible for ensuring that all Fiber Optic Lines that Texas Department of Traffic asked us to locate for future construction or expansion of traffic lanes. These lines must be clearly marked to ensure that the contractors are totally aware of the locations of the Fiber Optics Lines and the Underground Power Lines to prevent them from cutting a Fiber Line and disrupting all internet or electrical services in the proposed area of construction. This entailed working outdoors along the edge of the freeways and roads and walking long distances in the heat or cold weather.
