The Director of international Business direct reports to the President and Vice President of Marketing working closely with global partners in forty-two countries on transactional matters, strategic planning, market pricing, consulting, private labeling, and brand identity. During my tenure, I met with our partners in twenty-six different countries, with seventy-five separate business visits.

As director, I was responsible for driving the growth in our international markets with a clear focus on building success in the developing and emerging countries market space. Successfully resolved several trademark piracy issues relative to our brand in China, collaborating closely with a Beijing IP law firm as the process worked its way through China’s intellectual property legal system.

Instrumental in the LaMotte Chemical Company receiving the U.S. Department of Commerce Presidential "E" Award for Exports which recognized its significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports. In 2019, we receive the World Trade Center Maryland International Business Leadership Award.

In 2018,I was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to serve as member of the Maryland/Washington DC Export Council (the DEC) and in 2019, appointed as Vice Chair of the DEC. In 2020 I was the lead in coordinating the ExporTech program which focused on recruiting new companies having a strong interest in exporting their products. Key player in spearheading and initiating a communications dialogue and eventual collaboration on the issue of climate change risk between the EPA and an international professional insurance society effectively giving EPA access to more than 4,000 corporate entities across the United States and Canada. The signed Memorandum of Agreement, in Washington, DC, was a first for the association and the EPA with this industry sector.

Legislative Services Manager (10/94 to 12/96) – For the Department of Energy, Environmental Management, Office of Deputy Assistant Secretary for Science and Technology, directed the monitoring, research, and analysis on key legislative issues before the U.S. Congress. Served as editor/author of the legislative alerts and monthly legislative bulletins and supervised a staff of analysts. Member of the American League of Lobbyists (’94-’96).

Co-authored Surviving the “Valley of Death:” A Comparative Analysis, Journal of Technology Transfer, Spring-Summer 1996; co-authored background paper on Understanding “Valley of Death” Issues in Federal R&D, U.S. DOE, prepared for White House Conference: Financing Environmental Technologies, December 1994.
