As a young, motivated individual and dedicated student with strong communication and interpersonal skills, I am extremely interested in submitting my application for this job opportunity.
By March/April 2021, I would have completed my BA Politics, Philosophical and Economics Studies degree at Stellenbosch University. I am currently pursuing a postgraduate diploma in Transport Economics and Logistics Management at Stellenbosch university. These courses have given me a range of practical capabilities that will meet the needs of this role.
As a student, I worked for a university for one year as a Head Mentor in the undergraduate residence that I was staying in. My responsibilities in this role included acting as a middle man between first year students and the House Executive within the residence, providing 10 mentors with assigned duties and face-to-face emotional and physical assistance to the newcomers/first year students- to help them adapt to the faster paced academic and social environment on campus. This position has given me key employability skills while also allowing me to experience working in a professional and demanding decision-making position.
Because I have been extensively involved in my school community, it allowed me to develop strong interpersonal skills. Additionally, all these experiences have allowed me to develop strong time management and organisational skills, which I see is very important in a professional working capacity.
My teachers and employers have commended me for my high level of interpersonal skills and naturally engaging personality. My motivations include learning new things and the challenge of meeting key objectives.
I understand that you will receive a large number of applications for this role. I do, however, believe that my motivation, commitment and pre-existing skills will allow me to fit into your work environment and I would very much appreciate the opportunity to demonstrate my capabilities to you in person.
I believe that I have a lot to offer your organisation. I am keen to develop my professional skills and look forward to discussing my application with you at an interview. I have enclosed a copy of my resume for your consideration. I can always be contacted on the details provided below.
Thanking you in advance for your time,
Ms. Jamie Idas.
