PROFFESSIONAL EXPEREINCE:
2017-2021 : Crane operator and rigging supervisor at Kyanite Construction Company Limited in charge of 5 crane operators, 5 riggers and 4 forklift operators. Cranes capacity are 100 to 25 tonnes while forklift capacities are 10 to 2 tonnes. Determining the correct slings, webb slings and chankles which are inspected and certified and correct color coded. Making sure that all lifting plan, toolbox talk lifting check list and other related lifting and rigging rules are followed.
2015-2016: Crane operator at China Road and bridge corporation (CRBC) full time reporting to the site manager. This project is the SGR project being undertaken by the Kenyan government.
My Core responsibilities included:
Lifting of precast for the bridges.
Lifting of pillar shutters and assembling them preparing them for construction using concrete.
Offloading of the metal bars from the trailers and also loading them to the high up track for transportation from the workshop to the site
Removing the shutters from the pillar for preparation so that the concrete can be cured.
Offloading the drill machine and loading the drilling machine and setting them up in for use in a new site.
2013-2015: Working as a crane operator for WeatherFord drilling international
My main duties included:
Perform regular preventive maintenance on crane and component.
Participate in all safety meeting and tool box talk (tbt) for any lifting operations.
Assist third party service personnel in picking up and moving equipment for special operations.
Inspect all lifting equipment prior to use e.g. Shackles, wire sling, Webb slings and tag lines.
Maintain good communication with roustabouts and floor hands.
Make sure paper works is completed in time for required work to be done e.g. Jsa, permit to work, hse meeting, lifting plan etc.
Keeping and maintaining crane certification records and availing them when required by the client and doing daily inspection and filling daily checklist and highlighting any problem found and bring to the attention of rig manager.
Operating the crane following the lifting chart recommendation and guidelines.
Ensure lifted loads are clear of obstruction and properly secured with tag lines.
Lifting all rig floor equipments and also third party service equipment like logging equipment and cementing equipment.
Lifting up drilling bits and third party bha[bottom hole assemblies] accessories.
Lifting of drill collars and stabilizers and rigging down.
Lifting of casing equipments like spinners, pressure tongs, sleeves, pressure engine etc.
Lifting operation in running casing and sometimes laying down if there is problem in the well.
Lifting chemicals and cement for third parties ready for mixing.
2002-2012: Worked as Fork lift operator for Tetra Pak in a busy warehouse.
My main duties Included:
offloading of raw material from the trailers and storing them to the warehouse
supplying raw material to all machines of the production floor
picking finished materials from the production floor and storing them safely to the ware house
Loading of the finished materials to the waiting customers truck
Doing monthly stock take of the raw material and the finished material.
1999 -2001: Worked as a tower crane operator for Mavji Construction Company
1998-1996: Worked as a mobile crane operator and at times also operated the forklift when demand arose
1993-1995: Worked as a crane operator for Sumitomo Company Limited
1989-1993: Worked as driver’s mate with Howard Humphrey in the construction of the third Nairobi water supply project
