To Whom It May Concern:
At the present time, I am a retired Systems Engineer and General Contractor who would like to rejoin the work force. After successful major surgery three years ago, I would like to now continue to share my expertise in managing a business.
Prior to my surgery, I was operating my two construction businesses. Before that I had extensive experience as a manager of real time Software Systems. These projects included command and control air defense systems for five different foreign customers, and radar signal processing for both ground based and airborne platforms. Part of that work was for Raytheon and TRW. I was also responsible for designing the Fire Planning concepts implemented in the Marine Corps Fire and Air Support System. I have held a Top Secret Clearance.
When Aerospace left the area I started my own business so that my new wife and children could stay in our home. Then for another 20 years I managed and successfully operated two different contracting businesses, Pierce Construction & Repair and Cal Fence Deck & Rail.
I sincerely hope this letter of introduction gives you a snapshot of my background and familiarity with my skills.
I realize that my professional exposure to current technology is not what it would be if I had stayed in the engineering business. However, I have the knowledge of how to develop and document complex requirements, coordinate multiple disciplines and supervise multiple tasks simultaneously. Furthermore, during my time acting as a consultant, I observed both good and bad management practices in the company’s effort to create an environment that allows for all tasks to be completed on budget and on schedule. I am motivated and have quality experience as well as numerous skills that can be of assistance to your firm.
I am available at any time for an interview at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Richard Pierce ************@*****.***
