Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of four public companies ranging in annual sales from $250 million to over $1 billion. Responsible for all Finance, Accounting, Tax and Treasury functions. Also took on operational responsibilities. Reduced operating expenses.
Treasurer of two Fortune 500 companies (Spiegel, Inc. and CFS Continental). These were highly leveraged companies and required extensive capital market planning and cash flow forecasting. Dealt extensively with financing sources including banks, investment banks, public company investors, private investors, insurance companies and other capital sources. Formed and operated Investor Relations functions. Made numerous presentations on Wall Street and to other investors for both these companies and other companies I represented.
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for a start-up Biotech company (Neurorecovery, Inc.). Prepared the company for an IPO. Interacted extensively with the lawyers and investment bankers during the process. Developed a detailed business plan including a comprehensive financial forecast. Dealt with the FDA during testing phases
Completed over $5 billion in capital market transactions. This included $1 billion in AAA rated publicly traded asset backed notes, formed the largest bank supported commercial paper program in the USA, bank loans, insurance company loans, acquisition financing, leases.
Directly responsible for over 20 acquisitions, including the selection of the target, financing the purchase, integrating the acquired company and remaining involved with operations after the conclusion of the acquisition. Purchased Eddie Bauer for Spiegel from General Foods at a purchase price of $250 million. Eddie Bauer had annual sales of $250 million at the time of the acquisition which grew to $1.5 billion after the acquisition.
Took two companies public through the IPO process (Spiegel, Inc. and Safeskin, Corp.). Negotiated with the lawyers and investment bankers. Responsible for drafting SEC initial filings (S-1) and subsequent periodic filings (10-K, 8-K and !0-Q).
President for an early stage consumers products company (Potato Finger) and a publishing company (Dear Baby Books). Performed all finance and operating functions.

Birmingham Steel was the second largest steel minimill in the US. Completed numerous financings, including funding two $500 million steel mills. Company filed for bankruptcy and assets were purchased by Nucor.

Responsible for taking this latex glove manufacturer with $250 million in annual sales public through the IPO process. Oversaw the manufacturing operations in Malaysia and Thailand. Company sold to Kimberly Clark.
