Education

2003-2010: Attended Musa Gitau Primary School and scored 367 marks in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Examination.

2011-2014: Attended Murang'a High School and scored grade A in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination.

2015-2021: Pursued BSc. Mechatronics Engineering at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. During this period, I learnt the principles of mechanical, electrical and software engineering, and their integration, with the goal of solving problems. Qualified for the award of second-class honours, upper division.

My 5th year project was Flood monitoring and early warning system based on Internet of things (IoT). Weather-related data was collected using two methods. First through sensors that were positioned in the flooding simulation model and from relevant weather websites. The programmed algorithm would then calculate the probability of flooding and if there was high chance of flooding, it would send alerts in form of text messages, emails and tweets to the residents of the affected area.

Work experience

2015 April - May: Worked in Beta Health care awaiting my undergraduate education. I was in the packaging department where we used machines to pack medicinal drugs. During this period, I learnt the basics of machine operation and maintenance.

2017 Jan - 2018 Sept: Worked part time at Forever Living Products. This experience greatly enhanced my communication skills, team work ability and customer relation skills. 2017 May - August: Did an internal attachment in Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture technology. There, I became familiar with using various machines such as lathe machine, grinding machine, gear shaper, hobbling machine, milling machine and many more. 2018 September - November: Did an external attachment at Consol glass Kasarani. I was in the maintenance team and gathered a lot of skills in repairs of an extensive range of machines such as electric motors and air compressors.

2021 March - April: Did an external attachment at Kenya Power and lighting company, transport department. During that period, I finetuned my skills on car maintenance and electrical repairs.
