Project Description

MSN, formerly The Microsoft Network, is a collection of internet sites and services provided by Microsoft. The Microsoft Network debuted as an online service and Internet service provider with more than 30,000 Network devices facilitating network infrastructure to their External customers and Business partners.

GNS Network Escalations is a 24/7 centralized remote network operation which deals with 100% of break fix and critical change incidents within MSN Network.

Responsibilities

Work on the Incident, Request & Investigation tickets raised by internal or external customers.

Remotely work with Data Center Services on site team to resolve the issues.

Troubleshot the Cisco, Juniper & F5 incidents & escalated alerts.

Making sure that the issue is resolving within the SLA. Otherwise have the responsibility to provide valid reason / explanation to MSN management for the SLA loss either through ticket documentation or mail.

Documenting the Tickets with the observations / troubleshooting outputs and suggestions. In additions to this the responsibility to update the customers / Users/ necessary teams in a transparent and simple way. Documenting the ticket with these necessary communications and the resolution summary are compulsory to prove our work genuine and meeting all the process criteria & timeframe to management.

Coordinating with Multi-vendor (CISCO, F5, and Juniper) for Replacement of devices in case of device failure.

Configuring F5 Load balancer and upgrading the code on F5 devices as per client requirements.

Role as shift Lead: - To make sure all the tickets are handled by the right engineers depends up on the level of expertise and taking care critical tickets individually. At the end of the shift need to validate the report which SMC used to send to Microsoft Remote IT services Management regarding the number of break fix tickets handled by the shift and the SLA achievement statistics.

Upon a Major Infrastructure / service outage, need to work with other teams like Data centre operations (Server Support), Change operations, ISPs, and other respective teams who will be having direct responsibilities on that particular incident. Should Keep a Conference – Bridge call open until the issue resolves. Need to participate in the conference bridge to provide Assistance for other teams about network related queries.

Responsible to provide useful data to Problem management when noticing a technical / process Deficiency causing repeated or avoidable break fix incidents. If one engineer feels a change in Process / technology / application can change the service level and also avoid future break fixes, We can report this to problem management and based upon the data they used to implement /Change / rectify process or technical mistakes existing in the organization.
