In October 1998, I applied for a MAC Stripping position at Imtech Graphics in Carlstadt, NJ where I remained until April 2020. I have gained considerable knowledge in my field having worked with QuarkXpress, Page Maker, Freehand through the natural progression to InDesign and all subsequent versions since it’s original inception. In addition, I work extensively in Illustrator and Photoshop. Since 1998 I have worked with Preps for jobs that go to press in-house. At Imtech, we had a 6 color and 8 color press for which I prepared files. Additionally, we had a Nexpress Printer and an expansive EFI VuTech Large Format Department for which I also stripped files. Over 21+ years at Imtech I utilized all necessary programs to complete the job at hand. We handled many accounts there, notably Avon, Tiffany, MAC Cosmetics, Movado, Lancome, Shiseido and many more. My duties included stripping ads, brochures and books in InDesign and/or Illustrator as we were supplied files in both programs. The ability to troubleshoot was and is key. While Imtech did employ people who handled color correction and retouching alone, my duties also included these functions in Photoshop. Preflight Operator/Prepress Operator

While still in school at night for Desktop Publishing, I applied for a job as a Preflight Operator at Progress Graphics in Jersey City, NJ in March 1995. I was hired at an entry level position. Primarily, our accounts were with Sony Music and we assembled CD booklets, Cassette J-cards and CD labels for a variety of artists that resided under the Sony Music umbrella at that time. My initial duties included all manner of preflight: receiving and uploading all files from SyQuest Discs and verifying that all necessary imagery, fonts and additional materials to complete the job were supplied. I learned quickly and, by December, had moved from Preflight to MAC Operator. Education
