PROFESSIONAL GOALS:
I finished my graduate education in anesthesia in 1999. I am currently employed as an anesthesia care provider at a facility that provides services for all types of surgical procedures to patients/clients with a wide variety of health problems. This includes bread and butter cases, trauma, neuro, renal, vascular, ob/gyn, pediatrics, bariatric, and endoscopy as well as radiologic procedures. We see our own clients, develop an anesthetic plan, and follow the patients through recovery and discharge. I have experience at covering in-house 24 hour call, hospital wide, including obstetrics and intensive care. I have been trained and perform independently, regional blocks, such as interscalene, cervical plexus and retrobulbar. I am very proficient at neuraxial anesthesia including subarachnoid and epidural placements. I would enjoy working at a research and teaching facility at some prospective point in my career. As I love to teach and pass on the knowledge have gained.
I may return to graduate education to pursue a doctorate or second masters degree (nursing/education) and possibly teach at the university level at some point in the future. But these plans will never interrupt my desire to keep working full time. My personal and research interests include cardiovascular, obstetrical and regional anesthesia.
