BARRICK GOLD/COPPER INTERGRATED BUSINESS UNIT(IBU) MINE PLC POSITION- INSTRUMENTATION ARTISAN

- I was overseeing, maintaining, installing and repairing all the Gyro Crushers, grinding and floatation’s instruments.

- I carried out planned preventive maintenance on crusher circuit and attended to daily break downs. Calibration of automation weigh meters, sensor guards and piano wire which trips the belts when there is abnormality to protect the belts from damages e.g. belt rip. Maintained all the oil lubrication instruments at the crushers.

- I installed various instruments for levels, pressures, flows and temperatures.

- I calibrated grinding circuits instruments E.g. valve positioners, impact meters and vibration sensors. Maintained the oil lubrications instruments for the ball mill and sag mill respectively.

- I carried out daily routines checks on various instruments e.g. concentrate analyzers particle size monitor, Dublex and anastart and all the instruments at the Larox filter.

- Analytical lab instruments and installation, maintaining and repairing. RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Included planned maintenance, installation, repair and calibration of instruments, automation equipment as well as all associated equipments.

- Repairing of high pressure vessels auto claves boilers and hazardous oxygen plant.

- Calibration of nucleonic level density gauges, running of profibus

(PA&DP) network cables and connecting various instruments and equipments to plc system. Installation of Samson valves positioners, proximity switches and block valves, I installed gold concentrators (Falcon and Knelsons) which are fully operated.

- Working on danfoss variable speed drives which are extensively used for process control application and are interfaced to the control system VIA. Profibus Dp while a few were using UTP cables.

- Installing GSM sms transmitter at oxygen to notify engineers and managers when there is a trip out.

- Doing the in house fiber optic cable connection and splicing. Maintain good housekeeping. Reason for leaving I was offered a more challenging job.

APRIL 2010 TO NOVEMBER – LTA – GRINAKER SOUTH AFRICA POSITION INSTRUMENTATION ARTISAN.

RESPONSIBILITIES;
