UG Project: Acoustic Field Mapping of Supersonic Jet, TN 08/2017-04/2018 The objective of the project is to enhance the jet mixing by introducing the diagonal-wise expansion ramps at the exit of the rectangular nozzle and get the partial spectral field. Conclusion: Since better mixing reduces the jet noise, the circulation and vortex induction show expected results at under expansion conditions.
PG Project: Numerical Study of Effects of Shock Wave-Turbulence Interaction on Supersonic Nose Cone, TN 07/2020-04/2021
The work focuses on the computational study of the influence of freestream turbulence on the aerodynamic performance of the parabolic and spherically blunted nose cones at the supersonic regime.
Conclusion: The freestream turbulence and its interaction with a shock wave alter the dynamics of shock wave, so does the local flow variables in the downstream direction. The effect is more influential when it is coupled with a viscous boundary layer and changes the overall aerodynamic characteristics.
