PERSONAL STATEMENT
I am an enthusiastic and professional Mechanical Engineer, with industrial, manufacturing and research and development experience. Additionally, I have experience in working with SMEs and community groups in value addition to resources such as farm produce, minerals, etc. I possess an excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills and the ability to develop and maintain mutually beneficial internal and external relationships.

RESEARCH /TEAM WORK/WORK EXPERIENCE
Research scientist: KIRDI – 2012 to date
The following is a list of some of the projects in which I have played a key role as Mechanical engineer and as a team leader;
Technology Localization Strategy Development for Ultra-Low Head Micro Hydropower in Kenya, funded by UNIDO (Project Manager).
Packaging Biogas for Use as a Cooking Fuel. This involved offering technical support to an entrepreneur funded by World Bank through Kenya Climate Innovation Center (KCIC).
Upgrading of Sanitary Pad Making Machine for Technology Transfer. This was a reverse engineering project. I was the project Engineer.
Design and Development of a Modular Biogas Research Kit for characterization and classification of substrates. At some point, I was the team leader.
Member of KIRDI technical committee for the proposed KIRDI TECHNO CENTRE where I represented KIRDI in technical decision making.
PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE
CAD Design Engineer at Tradestar Kenya LTD, Thika; June, 2012 to November, 2012. Within the 6 months, I managed to design, develop, test and transfer a Low-Cost Briquette Press for conversion of waste to fuel.
Technical Engineer at Sameer Africa Limited, Nairobi (May, 2011 to May, 2012). Main responsibilities involved design and development of new products while improving the existing products through continuous R&D.
Trainee Mechanical Engineer at Kaluworks Aluminium Rolling Mills Limited, Mombasa; September, 2010 to April, 2011. Main responsibilities revolved around design and development of engineering parts, maintenance as well as technical sales.
