EXPERIENCE

9-16-2017- 3-16-2020 BRAZOS COUNTY HEALTH AND WELLNESS - PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT Assisted in opening the first Brazos County Employee Health Clinic. Determined the type of supplies, equipment, and stock medications needed. Assisted with the set-up of the Athena EMR and use of this EMR for patient charting. Helped with promotion of the new clinic. Gave teaching lectures at ‘Lunch and Learns’ and in employee departments on healthy diet, exercise, weight loss, back pain, TBI, melanoma, poison ivy, first aid, sunburn prevention, and summer safety. Assisted with implementation of flu shot clinics for employees. Worked independently without an on-site physician. Supervised Ancillary staff including a nurse and front office clerk. 10-24-2016-8-30-2017 SKILLED WOUND CARE (SWC). Bardia Anvar, MD. Provided wound care and surgical debridement of wounds in long-term care facilities around the Brazos Valley. At first, received training at the company headquarters in Santa Monica, California. Then provided assessment, treatment, and surgical debridement of wounds including diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, stasis ulcers, abscesses, stomas, and other wound care. Also, ordered ABI’s, Doppler studies, wound vac, compression dressings. Rounded with nursing staff and gave instruction and oversight to them. Utilized a specialized EMR program that was written for this practice.

8-10-2012- 4-8-2016 REMON FINO, MD - PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT. Provided specialty care for patients in this PM&R practice. Provided follow-up care and occasionally evaluated new patients. Provided TPI, knee injections, and subacromial bursa injections. Assisted with procedures by delivering conscious sedation to patients during neurotomies and kyphoplasty procedures. Completed paperwork, reviewed labs and ordered appropriated treatment. Ordered appropriate labs, XR, MRI, CT, CT myleograms, arthrograms, ultrasound, and ordered PT, chiropractic, OT, Biofeedback, psychologic evaluation as needed. Scheduled for LESI, facet injections, neurotomies, kyphoplasty, SI joint injections, LBB, MBB, and SCS placement. Did follow-up after SCS placement and pulled leads. Performed PE’s, ordered diagnostic testing, made assessments, and prescribed appropriate medications, and treatments. Handled a variety of health problems, including, minor suturing, biopsies of the skin, and even a few cardiac arrests, in addition to the usual variety of family practice medical problems. Gave talks at the local community center on Diabetes, HTN, Breast cancer, and Arthritis. Used a computer based dictation system for charting, but was working toward implementing a computerized EMR.

2003-2005 VETERAN”S AFFAIRS CBOC CLINIC, COLLEGE STATION, TX; Michael Schlabach, MD - Physician Assistant.

Provided medical care for America’s Veterans in an outpatient clinic setting. Developed my own panel of 600-900 patients that I provided with comprehensive care. Worked in a paperless office with completely computerized medical records using CPRS and Vista EMR system. Was given a Federal employee security clearance.
